From playing with my god-daughter and being amazed at how fast she is growing up....
...to playing Barbie's with little Nessa and hearing her tell the story of the dolls' lives...
...And of course sharing in good fun with the rest of the cousins. Sunday was not only for celebrating Christmas, but it was also a little party for my brother. Nick graduated from UNL this semester and officially has a degree in Golf Management. I am so proud of him!
And what is a party without cake? Especially when it leaves your mouth green from the frosting! It was so good!
The next day was Christmas Eve. While my poor mother had to work, we were all at home relaxing, and cooking up some food for that nights festivities. The evening started out with a church service where little ones from the community put on a skit on the birth of Jesus. Always a crowd pleaser. We then headed home for the feast. My mother had so much food prepared, no one was going to leave hungry.
It was soon time for presents. But first we all gathered together for a family picture in front of the tree.
We all must have been very good boys and girls this year because it seemed as though Santa had left his entire workshop in my mothers' family room! It was so much fun to watch everyone tear into their brightly colored packages expressing great joy to what they discovered under the wrapping. I was so caught up in taking pictures of everyone else opening their presents that I had completely forgotten all about my own gifts. But soon all that was left were shreds of paper and empty boxes.
I can't believe how fast the holiday season went by this year, but it so much fun!
